Community care that helps people thrive.
Zalika Africa Foundation designs community-driven programs that improve health, restore dignity, strengthen livelihoods, and build resilience for vulnerable and underserved populations across Kenya.
Programs shaped around real community needs.
Zalika Africa Foundation places people at the heart of development. Through strategic partnerships with communities, healthcare providers, government institutions, faith-based organizations, civil society, climate action organizations, and development partners, we build solutions that improve quality of life while strengthening local capacity.
Caregiving Support and Training
Equipping caregivers with skills, mentorship, referrals, and psychosocial support.
The Tumaini Program
Restoring hope for older persons living with chronic and age-related conditions.
Youth Health and Empowerment
Supporting adolescents and young people with knowledge, services, and protective systems.
Sustainable Livelihoods and Climate Resilience
Helping households grow income, food security, and climate-smart livelihoods.
Strengthening the people who care every day.
Families and community caregivers are often the first and most consistent source of support for people living with chronic illnesses, disabilities, age-related conditions, and other health challenges. Zalika Africa Foundation equips caregivers with practical knowledge, psychosocial support, and referral pathways so care can be safer, more effective, and more humane.
Caregiver Training
Practical skills for home-based care, chronic illness support, safe routines, and compassionate communication.
Mentorship and Wellness
Support systems that reduce stress, burnout, and social isolation among family and community caregivers.
Referral Support
Helping families connect with appropriate healthcare, social support, and community resources.
Better Outcomes
Improving the quality of life for both care recipients and the people who support them.
Restoring dignity, inspiring care, strengthening hope.
The Tumaini Program, Swahili for Hope, supports older persons aged 65 years and above who are living with non-communicable and age-related conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, cancer, stroke, dementia, and other chronic illnesses. The program integrates health, social, emotional, and spiritual support so older persons can age with dignity, comfort, and connection.
Health Screening and Referrals
Linking older persons to screening, treatment, follow-up, and essential health services.
Elderly Care Skills
Training family and community caregivers in chronic disease, dementia, palliative, and psychosocial care.
Basic Medical Equipment
Supporting access to tools such as blood pressure monitors and glucometers where possible.
Community Solidarity
Mobilizing faith institutions, youth groups, and local partners to reduce neglect, loneliness, and stigma.
Equipping young people to live healthy, resilient lives.
The Youth Health and Empowerment Program supports adolescents and young people aged 10 to 24 years. It responds to interconnected challenges including HIV infection, adolescent pregnancy, sexual and gender-based violence, mental health concerns, and limited access to youth-friendly health services.
HIV Prevention and Care
Supporting access to HIV testing, PrEP, PEP, ART linkages, and age-appropriate health information.
Triple Threat Response
Integrated prevention and referral support for HIV infection, adolescent pregnancy, and sexual violence.
Digital Outreach
Using digital platforms and social media to connect youth with reliable information and services.
Data-Led Learning
Using evidence to understand emerging youth needs and improve interventions over time.
Growing prosperity while building climate resilience.
The Sustainable Livelihoods and Climate Resilience Program improves household incomes, food security, and resilience among marginalized and vulnerable communities. Through climate-smart farming, agribusiness training, livestock support, water infrastructure, and tree planting, communities can move from vulnerability toward self-reliance.

Training farmers in modern practices, improved crop varieties, productivity, and nutrition-sensitive production.
Livestock Seed Stock
Supporting vulnerable families with high-quality breeding goats to establish income-generating enterprises.
Water Resilience
Promoting sand dams, rainwater harvesting, and small-scale irrigation to reduce drought vulnerability.
Tree Planting
Advancing indigenous and fruit tree planting for conservation, biodiversity, soil health, and household income.
